Here's a riddle for you...What do you get when you take 2 CRAZY moms, 6 WILD kids, a ride on the metro, a disgruntled metro employee, and a lonely info desk man? Well, that sounds like a great day at the zoo to me!
This past week my friend Shauna and I braved a trip into the city with the kids. Even with all the craziness, it was fun day. We were well prepared with a double stroller, a wagon and a backpack, but you should have seen the looks we got as we herded our crew onto the metro.
The kids loved seeing the animals, and for such a hot day, we actually got to see a lot of the animals outside. The elephants and the gorillas were the favorites with the kids. I loved seeing a mother gorilla with her new little baby. It was surprisingly tender to see how nurturing and loving she was.
The kids took turns riding in the wagon, and walking. Jackson was the oldest, and did the most walking--he was a real trooper! I was really proud of him.
Lauren and Maddie loved riding together. They are two cute little girls!
I loved this picture just because of the ladies in the background. 
At the end of the day, we hiked our way back up the seriously steep hill to the Zoo gates. Happily we spied a 7-11 across the street, and refueled with slurpees and oreos. This is the aftermath of Claire's oreos. What can I say, this is a girl who knows how to enjoy food.
Here are a few pics of the metro ride home. The kids loved riding on the train, and we had no trouble finding seats--people pretty much ran for the exits when they saw us coming.

chelsey, that really was such a fun day. "i think my post is gonna be entitled..."the day the ZOO went to the ZOO!" lol. i had such a good time. maddie ask me today "do you think we can go to the zoo again today with chelsey and all her kids" i thought that was funny.."all her kids". anyway, i hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing, rejuvinating time in Utah... when you get back it's OBX for both of us. yippee.
ps. we're going to the aquarium tomorrow and i put on the kelty to see if i could carry Brody...all i have to say it "you are some kind of woman." take care
